Cyclone Filter Removes Sludge from Coolant

Nikuni America will be introducing its Vortex Dynamic Filter (VDF) units at IMTS 2018. The VDF is a cyclone filter that removes sludge and impurities from machine tool coolant without use of paper filters. When installed onto an existing CNC lathe or machining center the VDF can filter out 95% of particles down to 10 µm without shutting down the machine tool. The VDF system is also used to collect non-magnetic particles in applications where the customer uses a magnetic filter including grind wheel particles and aluminum or other non-metallic workpieces.

The VDF is offered in several different filtration packages including the cyclone filter, a self-priming pump, filter stand and interconnecting piping with options for manual or automatic cleanout of the collected sludge.
