Versatile Grinder for Indexable Inserts

UNITED GRINDING offers its 5-axis EWAG COMPACT LINE CNC tool grinding machine with a fully integrated 6-axis robot. This compact, ergonomic machine grinds parts and indexable inserts made from hardened steels, carbide, cermet, ceramic, CBN and hard PCB/PCD.
COMPACT LINE's "three-in-one" wheel-sharpening unit dresses, regenerates and crushes in a single, efficient process. This unit creates precise process repeatability over long part runs.
For optimized operational flexibility, a 6-axis FANUC robot supports a variety of clamping systems. The robot automatically inserts and removes tools, shortening grinding cycle times. A pallet changer with up to eight pallets enhances productivity through lights-out operation.
The EWAG COMPACT LINE positions all grinding movements close to the working B-axis. Linear X, Y and Z axes, along with A and B rotary axes, provide full 5-axis capabilities. Short axis travels support high grinding precision with short interpolation travel, reducing downtime.
The combination of ProGrind software and the FANUC control system enables programmers to input grinding programs through an intuitive touchscreen panel with 3-D graphics.
