DMG MORI USA has opened a new regional headquarters in Charlotte, NC. In the approximately 1,250 sq. m building, the machine tool manufacturer is integrating its branches in Nashville, Tampa and Charlotte to create a central sales and service location for the entire region in the Southeast and East USA. It is also the headquarters for the East Region, with multiple support staff for the region working from the new office.
"With around 40 employees, we ensure smooth service processes and design state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions for our American customers," said Daniel Medrea, COO East Region, DMG MORI USA Inc. "This 260 sq. m solution center is available to them for this purpose. Training courses on all aspects of versatile CNC technology, as well as the digitization of machine tool manufacturing and the use of exclusive DMG MORI technology cycles, are also part of the range of services offered at the new location."
The Charlotte showroom features four machine tools: the NLX 2500 SY universal turning center, the NTX 2500 turn and mill center, the DMU 65 FD monoBLOCK milling and turning machine and the CMX 50 U 5-axis machining center. The latter is also automated with a PH 150 pallet handling system.
At a recent grand opening event, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held with the participation of Dr. Masahiko Mori, President of the DMG MORI COMPANY LIMITED, Dr. Keiichii Ota, President of DMG MORI USA, Inc., local government officials and area customers.
During the three day event, customers saw live test cuts on four machines, all connected with DMG MORI Messenger, NETservice and CELOS PC. "With over 100 customers from over 50 different companies, the event was very well attended, the mood was positive and the level of engagement from all participants was high," Medrea said. This was the first live in-person event DMG MORI has held since the COVID closures.
For those who missed the grand opening, DMG MORI USA invites customers to visit the location and experience personal tours and live demonstrations, as well as see live integration of digital solutions for machine monitoring. A local area service manager will help schedule a visit.
