Heavy-Duty Interlocked Shields

Rockford Systems, LLC heavy-duty interlocked shields are designed for drills, mills, lathes and crosslide/carriage travel applications. According to the company, the use of these shields goes beyond OSHA and ANSI safety requirements.

The shields are made of impact-resistant transparent polycarbonate that provide operator protection from flying chips and coolant. The heavy-duty arms are made of durable pressed steel and the mounting brackets house a safety microswitch. When the shields are swung out of position, the positive contacts on the microswitch open, sending a stop signal to the machine control.

These heavy-duty interlocked shields are available in different sizes and have many points of adjustability. Each safety microswitch is encased in a housing with a switch protection rating of IP 67.
