CMSC Announces Call for Papers and Conference Speaking Opportunities

The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) has announced the call for papers for the 31st annual Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC) to be held July 20-24 in Hollywood, FL. The organization is seeking metrology experts to discuss applications of portable 3D coordinate measurement systems, scientific research and developments, technology management, industry best practices, measurement strategies and other metrology-associated initiatives. The CMS will consider submissions for technical papers covering the practical usage of 3D metrology solutions, case studies, technology benchmarks, implementation practices and more. "Commercial content will not be accepted," said a CMS spokesperson. "The CMS is the eminent membership association for measurement professionals around the globe."

Abstract submissions for technical papers and presentations are due by March 13. Guidelines for presentations and technical papers can be downloaded at www.cmsc.org. The CMS Executive Committee peer-reviews each abstract for presentation at CMSC 2015. Notification of acceptance will occur on April 13. For more information about presenting a technical paper at CMSC 2015, contact Scott Sandwith, Technical Presentations Coordinator, at presentations@cmsc.org.

According to the spokesperson, the CMS Executive Committee considers all technical papers presented at the CMSC, then selects the top papers for publication in the "Journal of the CMSC." Both technical papers and presentations will be published on the CMSC website for access by the CMS community. Conference registration and membership fees are waived for individual speakers presenting at the conference. In the case of multiple authors, the CMS will waive one conference registration and membership fee.

The 2014 CMSC presentation roster included speakers from The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, Electroimpact Inc., Gancell Pty. Ltd (Australia), NMS s.r.o. (Switzerland), Escola Politecnica da Universidade De Sao Paulo (Brazil), Espace2001 s.a., National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), University of California Davis, National Research Council of Canada, Premium AerotTech (Germany), Shanghai University (China), Rolls Royce, National Physical Laboratory (NPL - UK), Hitachi Power Solutions Co. (Japan), Sigma Space, FFT Produktionssystemme GmbH (Germany) and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

The CMSC is an event for measurement technology professionals sponsored by the Coordinate Metrology Society. Established in 1984, the five-day conference is held each year at a different location.
