Chucks, Rotary Tables and Steady Rests Featured

Samchully Workholding will feature its latest workholding products, including chucks designed for the oil and gas industry, RTC pneumatic chucks for rotary tables and steady rest for shaft and oil tool applications.

Automatic Indexing Chucks

The IAH series of automatic indexing chucks is designed for manufacturing oil and gas valves of all sizes, with standard indexing of four positions x 90° and eight positions x 45°. Samchully manufactures the IAH chuck in standard sizes from 7" diameter to 41" diameter with larger sizes available on request.

"When manufacturing oil and gas valves, turning is a much faster and more accurate production method than milling, and an automatic indexing chuck makes this even faster than using a dedicated fixture or two-jaw chuck," said a company spokesperson. "Samchully large automatic indexing chucks offer quality and durability. Samchully also offers full turnkey index chucking systems with installation provided by Samchully technicians."

RTC Pneumatic Chuck for Rotary Tables

Samchully Workholding has introduced its series of RTC pneumatic power chucks designed for rotary tables. "Samchully rotary tables are often sold with workholding, and some purchasers prefer a power chuck mounted on the table rather than a manual chuck," said the spokesperson. "This option loses some of its popularity when the expense of a cylinder and a hydraulic power source must also be provided. The RTC chuck solves this problem with four sizes ranging from a 4.5 inch to 12 inch pneumatic power chuck. The RTC series of chucks are designed to work with the Samchully rotary tables, so an easy interface provides for mounting the chuck with a stop fork - no DRMB is needed. In addition, the RTC has a built in safety valve for safe operation. The compact size and built in pneumatic cylinder allow for flexibility when positioning a workpiece for machining. High gripping force provided by shop air pressure provides a secure grip on the workpiece."

The Samchully Mega Bore pneumatic chucks and Mega Bore scroll and independent manual chucks cover the rotary table sizes larger than the capacity of the RTC chucks.

Steady Rests

Samchully Workholding offers the model STA steady rest line for shaft and oil tool applications in the energy industry. The STA steady rest line offers gripping up to 460 mm (18.1") for a variety of shafts and other cylindrical parts. The Samchully STA steady rest can hold a shaft in order to prevent distortion during machining. The STA can also hold a rigid workpiece when it is necessary for end machining when a tailstock cannot be used.

Samchully Workholding can provide either the steady rest alone for a machine tool with the bracket included, or the full turnkey installation with bracket design and build.

Samchully also provides turnkey applications for shaft and oil tool milling in a machining center. Samchully provides the rotary table, power chuck, steady rest with bracket, hydraulic power unit, all mounting plates and installation.
