Heavy-Duty Beveling and Chamfering Machines

Manufacturing Solutions, Inc. (MSI), a designer and manufacturer of machinery for the industrial pipe, tube and fastener industries, will be demonstrating ChamferMate Model C8H. The ChamferMate line of beveling and chamfering machines are heavy-duty production equipment designed to efficiently bevel pipe, tubing or chamfer bar stock.

The ChamferMate Model C8H is a heavy-duty, hydraulic-powered pipe beveling machine with capacity up to 8" pipe. With 20 HP, the C8H has the power to machine weld bevels and other forms on the end of heavy wall pipe and tubing within its range.

According to an MSI customer, "We have chamfered pipe from 2 to 8 inches in diameter. For the pipe we cut, it takes an average of 20 seconds per chamfer. This allows us to have our saw operators doing the chamfering in line with the sawing. Our operators can set a part on the saw and then set up the bevel while the next part is being sawed. The process is so much more efficient we can now have the same operator also add the roll stencil marking to the pipe. A pipe now comes out of this station ready to weld."

The ChamferMate machines can bevel carbon, alloy and stainless steels, as well as zirconium, titanium and more. A fully enclosed cutting area with chip collection drawer provides a safe working environment. According to the company, non-skilled labor and standard off-the-shelf carbide inserts may be used to enhance cost efficiency.

MSI can customize standard machines for double-end operation as well as add material handling options to facilitate handling of pipe or bar stock. Machines can be either fully automatic or manually operated.
