PMA Elects Board Chairman

The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) has elected Troy Turnbull, President and CEO of Grandville, MI-based Industrial Innovations, Inc. as the 2020 Chairman of the PMA Board of Directors. Doug Johnson, President of Cheshire, CT-based Marion Manufacturing Company, will serve as Vice Chairman and Treasurer. Both will serve one-year terms.

Turnbull succeeds outgoing PMA Board Chair Troy Roberts, CEO of Denver, CO-based Beanstalk CCW, LLC.

"I am honored to be elected board chairman and thank Troy Roberts for his dedication and outstanding leadership during his term as chair," said Turnbull.

Turnbull begins his term as chair during a challenging time for manufacturers amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.

"My top priority is to work with PMA President David Klotz and his staff to help our members navigate through this uncertain time," said Turnbull. "PMA has been doing an outstanding job in providing the most relevant information possible to help our members, while the One Voice team in Washington, DC, our collaborative advocacy program with the National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA), is ensuring that our industry's voice is heard on Capitol Hill, at the White House and in the national media."

PMA has set up a coronavirus page on its website to provide important health resources and guidance, and with the One Voice team, created a resource page to deliver practical information that members need to operate their businesses. The current website topic areas include Safe Workplace Guidelines; Workforce Resources; Human Resource Compliance Tools; Loan and Tax Information; and Federal, State and Local Government Ordinances and Information. The site is being updated constantly as new information becomes available.

Turnbull also stated that PMA will continue to provide training throughout North America via the association's METALFORM EDU online platform.

"The recognition of the value that METALFORM EDU provides has only increased as a result of the experience that we are all going through at this time where online communication and education is essential," said Turnbull. "METALFORM EDU is vital to helping our members and the industry succeed and grow, in 2020 and beyond. We will develop a workforce-development committee charged with creating a playbook to help guide metal formers as they begin to use and embrace METALFORM EDU."
