Robots for Material Handling, Assembly and Packaging

The high-speed, six-axis MH6-series robots are designed to require minimal installation space and offer enhanced performance in small part handling applications such as assembly, machine tending and packaging, as well as dispensing and other tasks. Internally routed cables and hoses are intended to maximize system reliability, reduce interference and facilitate programming.

The MH6 and MH6-10 models feature a 1,422 mm reach and offer a wide work envelope. When a smaller work envelope is required, the shorter-arm MH6S model provides a 997 mm reach. Repeatability is ±0.08 mm for all models. The MH6 and MH6S feature a 6 kg payload, while the MH6-10 offers a 10 kg payload. All these robots adjust their speeds and acceleration and deceleration based on the load to help maximize performance. The MH6 robots have brakes on all axes and can be floor-, wall- or ceiling-mounted for layout flexibility. The small footprint and minimal interference radius (270 mm) maximize floorspace utilization, allowing the robots to be placed in close proximity to workpieces and equipment.

The MH6 and MH6-10 robots can be controlled by either the new FS100 controller or the DX100 controller; the MH6S is only available with the DX100. Designed for packaging, assembly and small parts handling robots with payloads up to 20 kg, Motoman reports that the compact FS100 is ideal for applications when space is at a premium. The FS100 also offers improved communication speeds and functionality and has open software architecture to enable OEMs, machine builders and system integrators to develop their own software solutions.
