High-Speed Waterjets

WARDJet, Inc. has designed two high-speed, high-production, American made waterjets: the J-Series and L-Series. These waterjet cutting systems are paired with technology for material handling and automation.

The J-Series is designed to be a low-cost water-only waterjet. Using belt drive technology, the J-Series waterjets can cut at speeds of 2,500 IPM with an acceleration and deceleration rate of 0.2 m/s2. "J-Series waterjets are ideal for companies looking to cut high volumes of parts where margins are low and tolerances are not as demanding," said a company spokesperson. "Also, the J-Series can accommodate the addition of material handling solutions such as loading/off-loading tables, as well as optical sensors to control chain feed tables or pinch feed rollers. The modular design of the J-Series waterjet makes it possible for small design changes to turn a standard waterjet system into a machine designed specifically for customer applications."

The L-Series is reportedly the fastest cutting waterjet offered at WARDJet. It uses a linear motion drive system designed for enhanced accuracies, placement repeatability and reliability. It cuts at speeds of up to 7,000 IPM with an acceleration and deceleration rate of 1m/s2. The frame of the L-Series is made of thick-walled steel tubing to be able to accommodate multiple 5-axis cutting heads.
