Lincoln Electric to Showcase Advanced Technology at FABTECH 2015

Each fall, visitors go to FABTECH, North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event, seeking the latest technologies to help them do their jobs better, faster, at a lower cost and with higher quality results. At FABTECH 2015, November 9-12, at McCormick Place in Chicago, Lincoln Electric’s 18,600 square feet of exhibition space will feature demonstrations, technologies and application experts from each of the company’s welding, cutting, automation and integration companies for the metal fabrication industry. This year, Lincoln Electric has multiple locations: North Hall N-11015, N-11021, N-11055 and South Hall S-951.

“Visitors to Lincoln Electric’s booths may explore effective ways to enhance welding, cutting, automation and integration for the automotive, appliance, heavy equipment and other industries,” said a company spokesperson. “Fabrication companies seeking new shop and field equipment and technology for construction, shipbuilding or pipe applications will see the company’s latest welders, racks, feeders and electrodes designed specifically for these environments.”

During FABTECH, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with experts from the company’s Tennessee Rand and Wayne Trail teams for advanced fabrication tooling, part holding manipulation and robotic or laser welding solutions. Visitors also will want to view the new PythonX II structural steel prep station in action. This new technology saves time by replacing up to nine common operations at once.

Attendees considering automating a weld process for the first time should be sure to stop by to see Lincoln Electric’s Auto-Mate and System 5 robotic cells firsthand and talk with experts who can help them develop an automation strategy for their production needs.

In addition, the company’s recent acquisition Wolf Robotics, LLC will display in booth N-11055. Wolf Robotics integrates robotic welding and cutting systems predominately for heavy fabrication (construction, mining, agriculture) and transportation OEMs and suppliers.

Both Lincoln Electric Automation Solutions and Wolf Robotics will be supplying robotic cells for the AWS Certified Robotic Arc Welding (CRAW) competition held during the FABTECH show, as well.

Special Booth Appearances and Personnel

Booth N-11015 will feature a special visit from welder Jessi Combs, as well as guest demonstrations from WorldSkills medalist Andrew Cardin; leading sculptor C.J. Rench, who will create a room-sized sculpture of steel, stainless steel and glass during the show; and Shane Love, an experienced NASCAR fabricator, who will demonstrate aluminum TIG welding on thin materials.

Renowned female welder Combs, Owner/Operator of RealDeal, will sign autographs on Tuesday afternoon, November 10. Combs, also known as the fastest woman on four wheels, is a current female land speed record holder. She was the first woman to win a King of the Hammers event and to win a National Championship in the Ultra4 Series. Combs co-hosts a bi-weekly video series, the web award-winning, “The List: 1001 Car Things to do Before You Die,” on

WorldSkills medalist Cardin will serve as a Lincoln Electric guest demonstrator on the company’s REALWELD educational trainer throughout the show. After winning the SkillsUSA welding competition, Cardin recently competed and brought home a top five Medallion for Excellence for welding from the WorldSkills International competition in São Paulo, Brazil. He is currently a full-time welding competitor who plans to travel and work around the world, and also one day teach welding.

Sculptor Rench, owner of CJR Design Studio in Oregon, will build a 14-foot tree from steel, stainless steel and glass throughout the show using the Lincoln Electric POWER MIG 210 MP. Rench specializes in large-scale abstract designs and fabricating unique works of art. His pieces range from small tabletop sculptures to monumental public installations, which can be seen throughout the U.S.

Love, the lead welder at Joe Gibbs Racing, a top NASCAR team, has more than 23 years of experience in auto racing fabrication. He regularly works on difficult, expensive and fully custom fabrications on thin and exotic materials, including titanium, Inconel, magnesium and stainless alloys commonly used in racing today. Love will show FABTECH visitors how to weld thin metals during demonstrations at the show.
