Tap Extension Holders for Hard to Reach Places

Emuge Corp., a manufacturer of taps, thread mills, toolholders, clamping devices and other rotary cutting tools, offers Tap Extension Holders that eliminate the need for specially made extra-length taps and are convenient in a wide range of applications. These Tap Extensions are designed to allow the end user to use high performance standard taps in long reach applications.

Parts designers for a CNC or conventional thread cutting machines often have to put threaded holes in places where a traditional tap cannot fit. They are faced with either using an extension tap that is not designed for the application, potentially compromising accuracy, or using a specially made tap, which costs more money to make and has a long lead-time.

Emuge Tap Extensions feature one-piece body construction, are precision ground and made of heat-treated alloy steel engineered for strength and durability that provides high accuracy with minimal run out values.

Emuge Tap Extensions are available in Standard ANSI and DIN taps shank designs, in solid and coolant-fed options.

The Tap Extension internal square is matched to the actual tap dimensions in either ANSI or DIN specifications for positive tap drive. The external tap shank is designed to readily fit into existing clamping devices.

Emuge's Tap Extensions are available in two versions - short or long length and have a slim design profile for hard-to-reach spaces. Designs are offered for either UNC/UNF threads or metric taps.

Emuge Tap Extensions are offered with knurled, cylindrical clamping nuts for solid designs, or clamping nuts for coolant fed designs and also shrink fit designs for a wide range of applications.
