AES, Canariis Double Operating Capacity to Meet Growing Customer Demand

American Equipment Services (AES) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Canariis LLC, have announced the completion of several strategic initiatives to expand manufacturing and staging capacity to more than 600,000 sq. ft. The expansion efforts were implemented to meet the increasing demand from existing customers as well as large-scale projects such as data centers.

In March 2025, AES purchased a 52,000 sq. ft. building on 13 acres in Danville, IL, which now serves as the company's central manufacturing facility for custom air conditioners and power distribution equipment as well as corporate headquarters.

AES further expanded in December 2025, when it entered into a long-term lease for an additional 140,000 sq. ft. of covered manufacturing space adjacent to its current facility. The company's three Danville locations bring AES's production and storage space to almost 500,000 sq. ft. These initiatives facilitated the addition of packaged systems production in Danville as well as larger dedicated areas for in-house fabrication and expanded production capacity for HVAC, power distribution, and fluid handling systems.

"AES and Canariis operate with a shared focus on building equipment that is engineered, manufactured, and delivered with consistency and purpose," said Tony Tauer, President and CEO of AES. "Whether standard fleet equipment or a custom packaged solution, our capabilities and procurement expertise allow us to support demanding schedules, large production runs, and complex project needs without sacrificing quality or control."

Canariis, based in Riverview, FL, specializes in the custom design and construction of modular packaged systems, including HVAC pumping systems, water-cooled chiller plants, air-cooled chiller plants, boiler plants, fire pump systems, and domestic water booster systems for a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional applications.

To keep pace with growing demand for packaged systems, in addition to adding production in Danville, Canariis increased capacity in Riverview by expanding and streamlining its manufacturing footprint, resulting in 48% more production space. Investments in new equipment, including an 18-ton gantry crane, have augmented manufacturing capabilities.

"We are well positioned to meet rising production demand driven by infrastructure and mega projects like data centers," said Steven St. John, President of Canariis. "We have the resources, talent, and manufacturing capacity to answer the call. Our commitment to custom design, ongoing R&D, and modular construction ensures we deliver innovative systems that minimize environmental impact and energy use."
