Shaft Drive Rollers Offer Precise Control Over Movement of Materials

Fairlane Products offers a complete line of (l-r) DuraSoft, finned, and solid shaft drive rollers.

Fairlane Products offers a full line of shaft-drive rollers. These rollers lock onto a round shaft to motorize, convey, and move product in a material handling system.

The lineup of shaft drive rollers includes solid, finned, and DuraSoft styles. All shaft styles feature a roller permanently bonded to a steel hub that locks onto a shaft with two locking set screws.

Solid rollers have a smooth surface and a solid body, providing a firm and smooth contact across the full roller surface. Finned rollers have grooves on the surface. The grooves create less surface contact on the workpiece and allow dirt, debris, and liquids to pass. DuraSoft rollers have a smooth surface and are permanently bonded to a steel insert. They feature "teardrop" holes that allow the DuraSoft roller to flex for firm yet nondamaging contact.

The main benefit of the Fairlane Products shaft drive rollers is that they allow for more precise control over the movement of materials for more accurate positioning. Since they do not rely on chains or belts, shaft drive rollers often require less maintenance compared to other solutions. Shaft drive rollers can offer efficient power transmission and reduced slippage compared to belt type solutions.

Shaft drive rollers are used in conveyor systems or machinery that is driven by a shaft rather than a belt or chain. They are commonly used in material handling and industrial applications to transport goods/materials efficiently. Industries include manufacturing, packaging, logistics, and food processing. The shaft drive roller directly connects to a shaft that is powered by a motor, enabling the roller to move items along a conveyer line or other machinery.

Fairlane Products' shaft-drive rollers accommodate shaft sizes of 3/8" to 1-1/4" and come assembled with hub and set screws to lock onto the shaft. The hub extends from one side of the roller and flushes on the opposite side. The shaft-drive rollers are available in 1-1/2" to 4" diameters, with 1", 1-1/4" and 2" widths.

The shaft-drive rollers are available in 1-1/2" to 4" diameters, with 1", 1-1/4" and 2" widths. They come in a variety of durometers (from 20 to 95) and materials (black neoprene, white nitrile, or polyurethane).
