ALVA Industries and Copley Controls recently demonstrated the seamless integration of Alva's SlimTorq frameless motors with Copley's Accelnet BPL-090-30 servo drive.
The demo highlighted a fully operational motion system combining zero-cogging torque performance from Alva's SlimTorq motor with Copley's advanced servo control technology. Together, they offer a motion control solution engineered for smoothness, responsiveness, and integration flexibility, suited for robotics, automation, and precision machinery.
"At Copley Controls, we are committed to delivering precision servo drive solutions that enable high-performance motion ecosystems. We are thrilled to demonstrate how our compatibility with Alva's motors gives customers a streamlined path to world-class servo performance backed by two trusted industry partners," said Ryan LaVoie, Director of Product Management & Marketing at Copley Controls.
At the heart of the demo is Alva's SlimTorq motor series, designed for applications required low cogging, high torque density and compact integration. Its frameless, slotless architecture and large through-hole offer increased design flexibility for robotics, gimbals, and medical systems.
Driving the set-up is the Copley Accelnet BPL-090-30, a DC-powered servo drive that delivers up to 15 A continuous current with precise control across position, velocity, and torque modes. Supporting CANopen DS-402, multiple feedback options, and CME 2 software for fast commissioning, the BPL represents a robust solution for embedded motion control applications, the company reported.
