WinTool USA Announces Availability of WinTool 2013

"The organization of production data has increasingly become a bottleneck in any CNC machine shops because of fast growth, the increasing significance of 'virtual manufacturing' in production preparation, and the rising complexity of multi-axis machines and tool technology," said a WinTool spokesperson.

WinTool software is designed to increase machine run times by reducing both the time and errors associated with the CNC machine preparation process. WinTool software is designed to enable CNC manufacturers to improve their workflow performance in three key areas: machine setup, NC programming and CNC production file management.

"With WinTool 2013, machine shops can centralize all CNC production data in an SQL Server database and automate many time consuming processes in both virtual and real production," said the spokesperson. "The software facilitates building a tool library with available industry standard tool data (ISO 13399, DXF/TDM format, STL, STEP) and cutting conditions. WinTool calculates detailed tool assemblies and automatically generates set-up plans complete with assembly graphics and itemized lists, as well as 3D models for milling and turning tools (tool contours, STL, STEP). WinTool's CAM Interface modules are available for leading CAM systems, including Siemens NX, Catia V5, Mastercam X7, Esprit 2013, Edgecam 2013 and Vericut 7.

"WinTool also facilitates substantial time savings in dealing with CNC file management. Files produced in CAM systems, in set-up documentation and on the CNC control, must be archived in order to produce repeat jobs. In many cases a production history must be kept and multiple versions are stored. Only the correct files must be available at the machines. In one central location, WinTool organizes the archiving, revision control, distribution and user permissions for all workers in all departments. The WinTool data can also be integrated with third party applications such as ERP or PDM."

Version 2013 is the 18th generation of WinTool. Extension modules are available to manage tool tracking, inventory control, purchasing, barcode scanners and hardware integration such as presetting gauges, storage lift systems or dispensers.
