Wireless Indexing Tombstone

"KME CNC's workholding tombstones were designed to help shops increase productivity while also giving shops the opportunity to accomplish 5-axis work on existing equipment," said a company spokesperson.

KME CNC's 5 axis wireless tombstone is designed to convert 4-axis horizontal machines to 5-axis by allowing the operator to present multiple 5-axis parts to the spindle in a single set-up. This 5-axis workholding tombstone is built out of Meehanite cast iron and billet aluminum covers and is wireless (connects to the CNC controls via RF).

KME CNC's 5-axis wireless workholding tombstone features:

  • Capability of being installed on existing equipment with no drive cards and/or upgrades necessary, the only requirement is an RS-232 port and available M-code on CNC machine
  • Programmable directly through G-code
  • Wireless, power cell operated; designed for pallet pool applications, A&B pallets
  • 300 ft-lbs. of torque on each platter, zero backlash for 10,000 hours of continuous use. Capable of having eight total indexing platters on a single tombstone.
