Jingdiao North America offers the GRA200 GRAPHITE 5-axis machining center designed to machine the most complex tight tolerance graphite electrodes.
The dust-proof design with positive air pressure can effectively isolate graphite dust and protect the machine's components, including the ball screws and guideways, from being damaged from the dust. The machine doors are tightly sealed to provide the optimal vacuum suction. The closed loop control system makes it suited for machining graphite electrodes that are used on CNC sinker EDMs for die mold applications. Additionally, Jingdiao's own proprietary manufacturing practices further enhances the machine's performance. The GRA200 GRAPHITE mill offers a positioning accuracy within .000080" (2 µm) and repeatability of .000070" (1.8 µm).
The GRA200 GRAPHITE features X-, Y- and Z-axis travels of 20" x 11" x 12" and an integrated chuck built into the 5th axis. The machine is available with a 63 position tool magazine that increases automation. The 32,000 RPM spindle is suited for electrodes that require the use of small cutting tools used for fine details.
Jingdiao's own On Machine Measurement and Intelligent Modification software combined with its 5-axis graphite CAM software allows the operator to program electrodes and measure them on the machine, which ensures their accuracy before being removed from the machine.
An optional MHS25 material handling system (pallet pool) can increase production capacity. The MHS25 has a storage capacity up to 110 pallets and since it is made by Jingdiao, the integration between the machine and the handling system is seamless. The pallet pool system controls functions such as motion control of load and unload points, overall logic control of the material handling, operation monitoring and process scheduling.
