The new EXSYS Compacto base holder is built to be compact, accurate and fast. "The system significantly reduces set-up and tool change times for most CNC turning centers," said a company spokesperson.
EXSYS Compacto is available in C3, C4, C5 and C6 sizes and suitable for all standard PSC (Capto) adapters. It features a very short PSC interface.
"When compared to traditional base holders, the EXSYS Compacto brings more space and clearance to large part production," said the spokesperson. "It also offers improved torque transmission and rigidity for increased tool accuracy. The EXSYS Compacto's cone-style shape interface further adds to its high precision and stiffness."
A special built-in release mechanism on the outer diameter of the EXSYS Compacto's spindle is designed to provide optimal operator accessibility. "Operators can lock and unlock the adapters with a small Allen key for fast, virtually effortless tool changes, and the automatic ejection of the adapters further increases the speed and efficiency of tool exchanges," said the spokesperson.
Available for bolt-on and VDI-style turrets, the EXSYS Compacto accommodates fixed and rotary tools, including the EXSYS/EPPINGER PRECI-FLEX system. According to the company, adapters used in milling applications will now work in turning operations due to the versatility of the product.
The PRECI-FLEX modular tooling system - offering a single base holder and multiple tooling adapters that utilize the ER collet pocket - is designed to make lathe tooling changeovers quick, accurate and cost effective.
"The product's compact design ensures maximum torque transmission and rigidity, resulting in increased machining accuracy and improved productivity," said the spokesperson. "Available in a range of sizes and styles, PRECI-FLEX provides excellent repeatability, with every toolholder offering repeatability within 3 um."
