New Oilfield Lathe Demonstration

The Haas ST-55 at HFO South Texas is equipped with a 42" long, 3" Sandvik Silent Bar sticking out past the turret face by 29.5 inches.

The Haas ST-55 now on display at Haas Factory Outlet South Texas has a base price of $275,995. FOB Oxnard, CA, according to the company.

"Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) South Texas announces its Texas-sized Haas ST-55 oil country lathe has arrived," said Toma Harrison of HFO South Texas. "Located in Spring, TX, just north of Houston, the ST-55 is ready to run live sample part energy sector demonstrations. The machine now on our showroom floor showcases the rigidity and power of this latest American-made machine tool."

This new Oil Country lathe can handle diameters up to 12.5 inches through the bore and will accommodate front and rear chucks. The machine comes standard with a 55 HP geared spindle with 4,250 ft-lb. of torque at 30 RPM. "Couple the spindle torque with an X-axis thrust of 5,500 lb. and Z-axis thrust of 9,000 lb. and you have the solution to profitability for the energy sector," said Toma.

Also new to the Haas lathe line is the extra-thick hydraulic turret design, now available on four Haas models: ST-40/45/50/55. With the turret featuring a width of 7.25 inches, the 3" boring-bar holder can accommodate some of the larger boring bars used in the energy sector. The machine is currently equipped on the showroom floor with a 42" long, 3" Sandvik Silent Bar sticking out past the turret face by 29.5 inches.
