The HBW series from KAAST is a collection of horizontal boring mills that feature either a fixed or moving column design paired with hardened and ground guideways.
These machines are made of strongly ribbed high-quality Meehanite cast iron for solid support for heavy workpieces. The main spindle features a powerful ZF transmission, and the rotary table offers a resolution of up to 0.001°. Mechanical interlocking of functions ensures operator safety. Slip clutches protect the headstock and the feed gear from damage caused by overload.
Individual selection of spindle speed and facing head allows suitable speeds, even for difficult applications. There is effective protection of the bed guideways through telescopic steel covers. Glass scales are included in the XYZ axes. A 3-axis DRO is standard and the HBW CNC series takes advantage of the FANUC 0i-MF CNC control, along with a 40-piece tool changer.
