New Long-Flute End Mill for Fine Finishing

Niagara Cutter offers its new NS240R solid carbide long-flute end mill designed for general machining in aluminum stainless steel and titanium, especially those applications requiring fine finishing.
"NS240R reduces machining cycle times in square shoulder milling operations through its one-pass finishing capabilities," said a company spokesperson. "It also produces tight-tolerance straight walls when cutting deep pockets. The end mill's high performance comes from several advanced features, including a highly wear-resistant polished AlTiN coating for increased tool life, stabilized edge design for improved surface quality as well as an enlarged core diameter and impact defined back taper for increased stability and less tool deflection during machining."
NS240R comes standard with a 5xD depth of cut and in diameters that range from 1/4" to 1-1/4" with various radii available, including aerospace radii. The long-flute end mill is suitable for peripheral finish milling of aerospace parts requiring long axial engagement.
