Expansion of Heavy-Duty Lathe Series

Summit Machine Tool Manufacturing L.L.C. has expanded its family of lathes with the addition of the new Super-Size, Heavy-Duty Lathe series. These lathes are available in swings from 70" to 110" with center distances from 120" to 480".
Features of the Super-Size, Heavy-Duty Lathes include: extra wide hardened and precision ground bed ways (52"); headstocks fitted with precision ground spindles with an 8" bore mounted in tapered roller bearings for accuracy and smooth operation; and an integral feed and thread gear box with a wide range of inch and metric threads available at the turn of the lever.
"The accessory package with the Super-Sized Heavy-Duty Lathes is loaded with items that usually cost extra on other lathes," said a company spokesperson. "With Summit, the standard included accessories for this series consist of a four jaw chuck, follow rest, steady rest with roller tips, complete coolant system, halogen work light, full length splash guard, six-way rapid traverse with a power compound for taper turning and a two-speed tailstock."
