JTEKT Toyoda Americas Expands Line of High-Speed Production Machines

The Gemini XL twin spindle machines reduce cycle times and cost per component while machining two identical pieces at once.

The Gemini XL twin spindle VMC nearly doubles machine productivity to that of a single spindle machine with similar specifications.

JTEKT Toyoda Americas Corporation and Ace Micromatic Group have formed a strategic alliance to offer a complete range of high-speed production machines. JTEKT Toyoda Americas has signed a long-term agreement to be the exclusive importer of the entire Ace Micromatic machining line.

Immediately, Toyoda will be introducing several new specific machine classes to its production product range. Among these machines is the Gemini XL Twin Spindle vertical machining center (VMC). The twin spindles, combined with fast linear guideways and traverse rates of 1,968 IPM (50 m/min), make the Gemini XL series best suited for industries with high-volume production such as automotive, aerospace and medical.

The MCV450XL VMC, another machine from the production line series, is equipped with an integrated rotary pallet changer with factory integrated overhead hydraulics, a 12,000 RPM direct drive spindle and FANUC fine mold package with 400 block look-ahead. Linear pallet changers are also available as an option with this machine and across the entire VMC lineup.

Another machine that will be available is the DTC-400 XL high-speed drill tap machining center. "This compact, powerful machine is loaded with high-speed spindle options, up to 24 tools and rapid feedrates up to 2,362 IPM (60 m/min)," said a company spokesperson.

"We are thrilled to provide our customers with these new solutions for high production manufacturing," said Graham Roeder, Toyoda National Product Manager. "The partnership is a strong strategic fit, leveraging both companies' respective strengths in production machining. We believe Toyoda's standard of excellence is mirrored with these products, further strengthening our company's ability to serve the needs in any production line manufacturing."

These production-type machine tools will be offered across the U.S. and Canadian markets. Toyoda will stock machines as well as parts inventory for this new strategic partnership. Some machine models are available for immediate delivery. Sales and support are provided by JTEKT Toyoda Americas Corporation in Arlington Heights, IL.
