The TPC-315 (right) industrial-grade touch panel computer features a 15" LED LCD screen with a 5-wire resistive touch control.

The Advantech UTC-515H is a 15.6" touch computer with an Intel 11th Gen Core i5 processor. The UTC-515 features an all-in-one computing system equipped with a wide-format, touch LCD panel and simplifies integrations of key peripherals and display systems for diversified applications.

Advantech, provider of industrial Internet of Things (IoT) hardware and automation technology, and Raven, provider of data contextualization software for frontline operations, announced a partnership and joint solution that allows manufacturers and systems integrators to quickly deploy edge intelligence technologies and analyze collected data to drive improvements.

"Utilizing Advantech automated touch panel PCs and smart controllers paired with Raven's software, end users can accelerate improvements in factory floor operations, safety management and sustainability to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)," said a company spokesperson. "The smart factory solution from Advantech and Raven is specifically designed to pave the way for proactive action in factory edge applications and asset management. The all-in-one communication protocol provides a comprehensive range of features, including real-time data collection and visualization, production status tracking, quick asset allocation and reallocation, proactive alerts and advanced edge analytics.

Raven's technology and real-time reporting allow organizations to account for 100% of production time and losses, with a platform to visualize data from machines and human context. New insights are uncovered through contextualized shop floor data, opening the door for productivity improvements and optimized processes. Additionally, organizations can focus on sustainability and obtain necessary information to support responsible carbon-neutral operations.

"We're thrilled to be partnering with Advantech on a joint mission to help manufacturers achieve sustainable, data-driven improvements and drive ROI from their Industry 4.0 initiatives," said Paul Turner, President and COO at Raven. "Together, we will provide IoT intelligence systems and edge devices paired with automated contextualization software to seamlessly capture data across the factory floor, engage frontline workers and create a complete, contextualized timeline of production events. This combined offering gives operational excellence engineers an invaluable toolkit for real-time visibility into performance and effective root cause analysis that enables frontline teams to accurately diagnose and rectify inefficiencies quickly."

The flexible and customizable solution allows for simultaneous delivery of multiple, intelligent key operational functions like machine status monitoring, alarms, asset and data management, processing rules, profile management, event reporting and the ability to create custom functions. Compatible with the Advantech WISE-iFactory platform and leading Software as a Service (SaaS) suites, transitioning from legacy system networks to intelligent factory edge technology is made simple.

"Our exciting new partnership with Raven is all about going above and beyond for our valued customers," explained Carolyn Swan, Director of Partnerships at Advantech North America, IIoT Group. "With Raven's cutting-edge smart factory software platform for data contextualization and Advantech's industrially-designed hardware, we are thrilled to offer an all-in-one solution that enables real-time data visualization of operational processes, among additional comprehensive features."

Featured Advantech hardware devices for the combined solution include several intelligent panel PC options and the UNO-2271G-V2, a small, form-factor industrial edge IoT gateway that runs on Intel CPU technology. The combination of the UNO-2271G-V2 and featured Advantech touch panel PCs enable real-time monitoring (RTM) and simultaneous real-time data collection, computing, storage, notifications and dashboard visualization. Compatible Advantech human machine interface (HMI) options for the factory edge solution all include an IP65-rated front panel to accommodate areas where water or dust are present.
