Bullen Ultrasonics Names Vice President of Operations

John Liddy

Bullen Ultrasonics has announced the promotion of John Liddy from director of engineering to Vice President of Operations. In his new role, Liddy will oversee Bullen's core manufacturing functions, including production, quality, engineering, and technology development, while leading strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and position the company for long-term growth.

"John's combination of deep technical expertise, proven leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement make him uniquely suited for this role," said Tim Beatty, President of Bullen Ultrasonics. "John has played a pivotal role in driving innovation and operational excellence within the engineering department, and now we are excited to see him bring this same focus and leadership to all of Bullen's operations. We look forward to his new role that will help us continue delivering unmatched precision and quality to our customers worldwide."

Since joining Bullen in 2021, Liddy has led several Bullen advancements, most notably the maturation of the company's proprietary MicroLucent technology for ultra-precise machining of transparent materials. He also streamlined innovation pipelines to speed new technologies into production. Now as Vice President of Operations, he is guiding the company's adoption of industry-standard performance metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), formalizing continuous improvement programs, and integrating machine-level data into intelligent, responsive manufacturing systems.

Liddy's career spans more than 25 years in manufacturing leadership. Before joining Bullen, he spent nearly three decades with The Timken Company and TimkenSteel Corporation (now Metallus), progressing from controls engineer to plant manager of a high-volume CNC machining facility producing millions of precision components annually. His accomplishments include implementing real-time plant data systems, deploying cost-effective robotic automation, and managing multiline CNC expansions to meet growing production demands.

"Bullen is a company with a rich legacy of innovation and quality," said Liddy. "I am honored to take on this role and excited to continue building on our strengths while driving operational excellence to meet the evolving needs of our customers. I am excited about what is ahead, as we continue investing in new technologies, empowering our people and finding smarter ways to deliver exceptional results."
