FPE Automation, IMEC to Host Automation and Robotics Seminar August 21

Designed for industry professionals in the industrial engineering and manufacturing sectors, FPE Automation and IMEC will be hosting an early morning event called "Breakfast with the Bots" on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM, at the Danville Area Community College.

"Roughly 85% of manufacturers report a workplace labor shortage. They have difficulty finding skilled workers to perform certain tasks. Most notably, hazardous, repetitive and boring or dirty and laborious operations are not appealing to workers. Collaborative robots (cobots) are being used alongside human workers to perform these tasks safely and more reliably. That frees workers up to do more important things," said a company spokesperson. "It also helps American manufacturers to do more, so we remain competitive in the global marketplace and help to keep jobs in and around Danville and the state of Illinois. In short, these new innovations are transforming the workplace in unprecedented ways. All manufacturing executives should be exploring the possibilities of automating with cobots. Technology is making workplaces safer and operations more effective, while providing return on investment, improved quality and increased job satisfaction."

In this short breakfast event, industry experts from Universal Robots and FPE Automation will give an overview of cobots from a business angle, and include live demonstrations.

"FPE Automation is very much looking forward to working with IMEC again to present this important content in Danville," said Sandia Harrison, Director of Marketing for FPE Automation. "As cobots become a transformative force in American manufacturing, we are at a crucial point in history. It is more important than ever to have dialogue with industry executives to determine how this amazingly effective technology can benefit them."

Emily Lee, Program and Partner Relations Coordinator for IMEC, said, "The feedback from the Danville Area Community College planning committee was very positive. They are excited that FPE Automation is able to facilitate this session. There is a strong core group of manufacturers that attend, and this will be very unique from the other topics we have hosted in Danville."

Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the cobots in a hands-on environment.

The location of the event is Danville Area Community College Bremer Conference Center, Room 109, 2000 East Main Street, Danville, IL 61832.

This seminar is designed for plant managers, directors, operations managers and others in operational leadership roles. This event is not open to the general public. There is no cost to attend. Registration is required. To register, go to fpeautomation.com/events.
