Southeastern Industrial Coatings Purchases Blast Room from Titan Abrasive Systems

Titan Abrasive Systems, a designer and manufacturer of quality surface preparation, surface finishing, and abrasive blasting equipment, has announced the purchase of a new abrasive blast room by Southeastern Industrial Coatings LLC of Mobile, AL. According to company Manager David McDade, the blast room will be used to blast everything from pipe, gearboxes, pumps, and structural steel to automotive parts.
Southeastern Industrial Coatings will operate the Titan room in a similar fashion to its existing equipment: some parts will undergo blasting only, while others will be painted or powder coated afterwards per customer specifications. The smooth finish created by the abrasive blasting operation creates a surface that offers greater adhesion of paint and other coatings.
The new Titan blast room is 15' wide x 12' high x 25' long. It will be equipped with a mechanical recovery system with rotary drum and air wash (sweep-in style). A 10,000-CFM cartridge dust collector will help protect the workers and the products. Titan is also providing turn-key installation and training.
For the parts that will be painted or finished after blasting, Southeastern also purchased a new Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) paint booth (Titan is a GFS distributor).

"Given that the company was already using a blast room from a different supplier, we knew the sale would be a challenge. We are certainly pleased that the quality and durability of our room impressed them enough to make this significant investment."
