Underwood Ammo to Create 120 New Manufacturing Jobs
December 1, 2025
Underwood Ammo, a manufacturer of handgun and rifle ammunition, has announced a $41 million investment to establish a new facility in Georgia, creating 120 new jobs.
The manufacturing and assembly operations will be located at Savannah Portside International Park, with construction starting in 2026. Hiring for positions in operations, maintenance, and assembly is expected to begin in 2027.
This investment highlights Georgia's strength as a destination for manufacturing, a sector with an output of approximately $59.5 billion and a workforce of about 289,000 production workers.
"Georgia is the nation's premier destination for manufacturers, including the defense and sporting sectors," said Gov. Brian Kemp. "This sector has made several key investments in our state in recent years, with companies like Underwood Ammo creating quality jobs and investing in our communities."
"Today marks an important milestone in the history of Underwood Ammo," said Kevin Underwood, CEO, President and founder of Underwood Ammo. "Our focus has always been on growth to better serve our customers, and this investment in Effingham County positions us for long-term success."
