Gilbert Amelio
Future Form Manufacturing, a manufacturer of precision-engineered solutions for the data center, medical, defense, energy, and transportation industries, has announced the addition of Gilbert Amelio, a prominent American technology executive and former CEO of Apple, to its executive advisory board.
Amelio's arrival comes on the heels of the company's recent rebranding from B&J Industries to Future Form Manufacturing along with its major U.S. expansion.
"We could not ask for a more seasoned and forward-thinking leader to join our advisory board, especially at this critical point in our 50-year history," said Ben Thomas, Future Form President. "As we scale nationally and expand our manufacturing capabilities for data centers in particular, Gil's deep experience as an executive, inventor, and leader at some of our nation's preeminent technology organizations will be a real asset as we chart our path forward."
Amelio brings high-level financial, technology and digital infrastructure expertise to the board, which supports the company's mission to deliver high-volume manufacturing solutions combining advanced technology, automation, and expert human craftsmanship.
Announced in October 2025, Future Form's expansion brings its total production and warehouse space to 150,000+ sq. ft., more than tripling its production capacity and enabling the company to employ more advanced machinery and robotics.
"Future Form is a manufacturing organization of the highest caliber, and I am pleased to become part of their vision for shaping the future of U.S. manufacturing," Amelio said. "Their mission is particularly important in the data center sector, which plays a foundational role in sustaining our nation's leadership and growth in AI. I am looking forward to contributing my expertise as the company ushers in a new era."
Amelio's career spans more than six decades, having included positions at Bell Labs, Fairchild Semiconductor, as president of the semiconductor division of Rockwell International, and later as CEO of National Semiconductor. Amelio's tenure with Apple computing began in 1994 when he joined the board of directors and was followed by his appointment as Apple CEO in February 1996. Amelio led the company through the development of the Mac OS 8 and through the acquisition of Steve Jobs's technology company NeXT. Since 1998, Amelio has been a venture capitalist and has founded several companies in the technology sector.
Amelio is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and received the IEEE Masaru Ibuka Consumer Electronics Award for contributions to the development of the charge-coupled device (CCD) image sensors in consumer video cameras. He has been awarded 16 patents and is the author of several books. He has previously served on the boards of AT&T Inc., Pacific Telesis, Sematech and as chairman of the Georgia Tech National Advisory Board (NAB). Amelio holds a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and PhD in physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
