Encoders for Tough Conditions

Newall's DSG and DMG linear encoders feature a design in which all of the electronics and measuring components are sealed and protected. The encoders carry an IP67 environmental rating and are designed to provide accurate, reliable readings even when fully submersed in water, oil or coolant.

Output protocols include 5V TTL quadrature and 1Vpp. Resolutions down to 1 micron (0.00005") is available and travels lengths up to 13 meters.

"Newall linear encoders require no regular cleaning or maintenance and have no general wear characteristics," said a company spokesperson. "There are no LEDs to burn out or glass scales to get scratched or broken."

"The DSG and DMG encoders allow a customer with other brands of DROs to utilize Newall's inductive encoder technology. The encoders are plug & play compatible with most major brands of DRO cabinets and they will withstand the most hostile workshop environment," said Danny Donaldson, Newall's Sales and Marketing Director.
