Passport Software, Inc., developers of PBS Manufacturing, an ERP technology for small to mid-sized manufacturing companies, will be going mobile with its newest release.

"Our PBS manufacturing customers can now take advantage of the opportunities for improved efficiency and accuracy that mobile has to offer," said Ian Creswell, Passport's Manufacturing Project Manager. "With the release of Passport Business Solutions Version 12.03, we will offer support in a Windows 8 environment. As a result, we have been able to test our applications in the mobile environment of the Windows 8 Pro tablets. We feel sure our customers will be very pleased with the results. I have personally been working with PBS Manufacturing on an HP Envy X2, which is a tablet with a laptop docking station. Need to take your information with you? Press a button and take the tablet along so you have complete access to your business software on the move.

"The possibilities that our new release will offer our customers are truly endless. Machinists can more easily report their time on a job. Warehouse workers can issue material in the system as they pull it from the shelf. Production managers can have access to real-time materials and production information as they move through the shop. Sales reps can check inventory, place orders and even print picking tickets while sitting down with a client at their location."
