The Mifsud Group, a Cleveland-based private investment and management company that owns and operates specialty manufacturing companies, recently acquired Montana Metal Products, located in Des Plaines, IL. Sikich Investment Banking acted as the exclusive buy-side adviser in identifying the target and managing the acquisition process. This purchase will further The Mifsud Group's strategy of owning and operating a portfolio of specialty manufacturing companies serving diverse end markets.

Montana Metal Products, with roots dating back to 1957, is a precision metal fabricating company located in a 98,000 sq. ft. building in Des Plaines, IL, that employs more than 100 people. The company serves the aerospace and medical equipment markets worldwide. Its products include precision sheet metal assemblies and machined components that are used on airliners, fighter jets and helicopters, as well as in medical X-ray and MRI equipment. The new Boeing 787 and next generation 737 passenger jets feature many of the company's products.

The Mifsud Group has a long and successful history of owning and operating companies in the aerospace sector. The company sold its last aerospace company, Aero-Instruments, in 2012. Aero-Instruments supplied air data sensors for civil, commercial and military aircraft. Several years ago, The Mifsud Group expanded into the automotive aftermarket space when it purchased CORSA Performance, a manufacturer of high-performance exhaust systems for cars, light trucks and boats. It recently expanded in the automotive product range by buying Volant, a manufacturer of air intake systems.
