CNC Plasma Cutter with New Micro Stepper Control System



Techno CNC Systems has introduced its new HPLC Plasma Cutter Series. According to the company, it is a low cost, high powered and user-friendly machine designed for small to mid-sized shops and educational classrooms.

Techno's plasma cutting system is now equipped with a new control system powered with brushless micro stepper motors that, according to the company, require no maintenance and deliver continuous, high-speed performance. Key features include heavy-duty, all steel construction with quality components such as precision rack and pinion drives on the X and Y axes and a ballscrew on the Z-axis to provide precise torch positioning, high-speed cutting up to 800 IPM and the ability to cut up to 1" thick steel. The machine comes standard with a steel V-grid down draft and a water spray nozzle to help reduce smoke.

An intuitive hand-held controller facilitates installation and training and is compatible with industry standard G-and M-codes. This system functions independently of a PC and files are transferred via a USB memory stick. The electronics are housed in a double-door industrial cabinet that conveniently serves as a work table for the tools required. The system comes in 4' x 4', 4' x 8' and 5' x 10' stock sizes and multiple torch options are available.

An automatic CNC torch height control maintains a constant arc voltage. The system also includes magnetic torch breakaway with Z-axis auto retract.
