Kira America Corp., a machine tool supplier of CNC lathes and machining centers, introduces the KDL65 Series with 12.6" spindle bore and up to 126" bed length.
The machine can also come equipped with live rotary tooling for milling and cross drilling. Key features of the machine include hardened and ground box ways, slant bed and torque tube design to eliminate twisting and bending under heavy loads. The one-piece bed is a fine grain Meehanite casting for vibration dampening.
"The slant bed design offers excellent workpiece accessibility and allows chips to flow away from the casting and into the chip pan further minimizing the possibility of thermal growth. The large spindle bore and heavy-duty spindle can easily machine large diameter shafts and pipes and handle extreme cutting conditions," said a company spokesperson.
