Connect IT and OT Data

Google Cloud has announced the initial foundation extensions for its signature manufacturing solution, Manufacturing Data Engine (MDE), to integrate with Cortex Framework to help manufacturers connect information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) data and gain a holistic view of their factory operations.

Solving for the historical disconnect between physical machines (OT) and the data they generate (IT), manufacturers will now be able to apply analytical and AI tools to industrial data, which can help unlock new levels of automation and valuable insights for enterprises.

With this new release, manufacturers can combine multimodal data from machines, sensors and cameras using MDE and then contextualizing it with data from core enterprise applications like SAP, Oracle and Salesforce-as well as other external datasets via Cortex Framework to achieve a comprehensive view of their operations and more effectively leverage AI on and off the factory floor.
