Micro5 XL for demanding micromachining applications.

Precision machining of a titanium bone plate-an example of the extended range of applications in medical technology with the Micro5 XL.
CHIRON Group has launched the new Micro5 XL, a compact machining center engineered for maximum precision, performance and productivity in the tightest spaces.
"Following the global success of the original Micro5, the Micro5 XL offers enhanced flexibility and power, making it suited for manufacturers of medical components, watch parts, micro-mechanical systems and other highly complex, small-scale components," said a company spokesperson. "With its ability to process challenging materials such as titanium, stainless steel and precious metals, the Micro5 XL brings together what the industry demands: speed, accuracy and a compact footprint."
Features of the Micro5 XL:
- Machining range: 120 mm x 120 mm x 120 mm
- Travel distances: X = 170 mm, Y = 140 mm, Z = 120 mm
- Rapid traverse speeds: 30 m/min
- Acceleration: Up to 20 sq. m/s
- Spindle speed: Up to 50,000 RPM
- Tool capacity: Up to 100 tools with fast chip-to-chip times.
"This machining center delivers the stability of much larger systems. It is built for speed, long production runs and high precision," said the spokesperson. "Whether you are producing bone plates or knee inlays, bracelets or connectors, the Micro5 XL handles complex geometries and material challenges with unmatched dynamics and cycle times."
