Professional CNC Performance Made Accessible

Tormach has introduced the 1500MX CNC mill.

"The 1500MX CNC mill takes capable, affordable and easy-to-use to a new level," said a company spokesperson. "Designed and manufactured by employee-owners in the USA and Mexico, the 1500MX brings professional-grade features into a machine that is accessible for small businesses, educators and innovators alike."

At its core is an epoxy granite frame, made in the USA. Epoxy granite offers 10x the vibration damping of cast iron, resulting in smoother finishes, better part consistency and up to 30% longer tool life, the company reported.

With a 4 HP spindle (peaking at 6 HP) and a maximum speed of 10,000 RPM, the 1500MX is built for modern machining strategies. Paired with rapid travels of 1,200 IPM in X/Y and 600 IPM in Z, it is engineered to keep pace with today's high-efficiency toolpaths while still delivering precision.

"The machine's servo motors use 23-bit absolute encoders with battery backup, meaning operators never need to re-reference the machine-even after power cycles. This reduces downtime and builds confidence in every cut," noted the spokesperson.

Every 1500MX comes prepped for through-spindle coolant (TSC), a feature that improves finishes, extends tool life and drills holes up to 7x faster. Customers can add TSC at any time, making the machine a future-proof investment.

The 1500MX runs on Tormach's PathPilot operator console, a CNC control designed for usability without sacrificing power. With free updates for life, PathPilot helps ensure customers continue to benefit from ongoing advancements.

"For shops adding flexible capacity, startups prototyping products, or schools training the next generation of engineers, the Tormach 1500MX makes advanced CNC machining attainable without compromise," said the spokesperson.
