Web-Based HMI Solution for Predator Applications

A cell of six machines, as accessible through the browser-based pWidget HMI for Predator DNC and MDC applications. The customizable pWidget touch interface gives Predator users the ability to view, control, send or receive CNC file programs as well as access specific machine data points across a variety of web-enabled devices.

Shop Floor Automations (SFA), a manufacturing integrator specializing in digitally transformative hardware, software and support solutions, has released the pWidget Browser Human-Machine Interface (HMI) solution optimized for Predator Distributed Numerical Control (DNC) and Manufacturing Data Collection (MDC) software. This next-generation interface, developed by Nexas America, offers intuitive control, real-time monitoring and streamlined integration for enhanced performance and operational efficiency in complex environments, as found in the aerospace and defense, medical devices, energy, automotive and heavy equipment industries.

For Predator DNC software, pWidget Browser HMI provides operators with a modern, browser-accessible environment to view, control, send or receive CNC programs to specific machinery. With full touchscreen compatibility, the interface eliminates the need for software installs and offers greater flexibility by running on any device, such as iPads, phones, tablets and computers. For the Predator MDC application, pWidget HMI permits browser-based deployments and allows the customization of the MDC user interface for specific data points.

Key features include:

  • Web-based access: Operate CNC file transfers and view equipment from any device with a modern browser-no software installation required
  • Touch optimized: The intuitive design of pWidget Browser HMI is tailored for touchscreens, enabling quick interaction with the touch of a button
  • Real-time data integration: Live data feeds and customizable tiles enable complete situational awareness
  • Secure connectivity: pWidget offers inherited permissions from a Windows Service account to streamline security management and reduce potential vulnerabilities
  • Scalable architecture: Easily integrates with existing Predator DNC and MDC and scales across multisite, multiuser deployments through simple browser access.

"Manufacturers demand both reliability and agility to accommodate their physical and virtual operations in this era of Industry 4.0 technologies," said Greg Mercurio, President at Shop Floor Automations. "The new, web-based pWidget Browser HMI empowers Predator users with the flexibility they need across all their browser-enabled devices."

pWidget Browser HMI is now available for new deployments and as an upgrade to existing client-server HMI systems.
