REGO-FIX to Spotlight Tooling Advancements

REGO-FIX will present a new low-cost retrofit solution for the internal cooling of driven tools as well as showcase advanced tooling systems that are designed to bring precision, strength and ease of use to demanding part machining applications.

"EMO attendees seeking an affordable, low-maintenance solution for extending the tool life of their milling cutters and drills must check out REGO-FIX's new reCool cooling system," said a company spokesperson. "reCool allows manufacturers to retrofit their driven tools to be able to benefit from internal or peripheral cooling, which is much more effective in getting coolant to the cutting edge when compared to spray pipes or nozzles."

The advanced tooling systems EMO attendees will see inside the REGO-FIX Stand include the powRgrip toolholding collet system as well as the secuRgrip anti-pull system and slim-nose PG6 toolholder, which are both new options for powRgrip.

"Attendees will learn how powRgrip is a safe, precise and cost-effective system that includes a holder, collet and mini-press," said the spokesperson. "It generates up to nine tons of clamping force, which is equal to or higher than shrink-fit holders, by relying on the interface between the holder and collet. powRgrip uses the mechanical properties of the holder material to produce its tremendous gripping force with run-out below 0.0001 inch. Interchangeable collets are available from 1/8 inch up to 1 inch and will hold both carbide and HSS tools.

"Designed for easy operation and use, the powRgrip system takes less than 10 seconds to press in a tool or remove it from the holder. And, because the

system does not rely on heat, operators can immediately use the tools after a tool change.

"Attendees looking to gain added confidence when machining expensive materials or complex parts will find what they seek with secuRgrip. The anti-pull system locks the collet and cutter to the toolholder body to eliminate cutter slippage during demanding metal removal applications. It utilizes the powRgrip's tremendous gripping strength in conjunction with a patented locking key system and threaded cap.

"secuRgrip does not require the purchase of expensive specially modified endmills, but rather makes use of existing standard carbide or HSS endmill designs. The standard ground notches found on most Weldon-type endmills readily accept secuRgrip's locking key insert for fast, easy assembly."

The secuRgrip system is applicable for use with REGO-FIX PG 25 or PG 32 holders in all tapers, including CAT, BT, TC, HSK, CAPTO and dual contact REGO PLUS. Licensed by BIG Daishowa, REGO PLUS products are compatible with all BIG PLUS spindles.

"EMO attendees working with high-precision applications will want to check out the PG6 toolholder, which has a run-out accuracy of less than three microns and easily accesses tight, difficult-to-reach features in small complex parts," said the spokesperson. "As the smallest toolholder in the powRgrip product series, PG6 has a minimal outside diameter of 0.4 inch and a clamping diameter from 0.008 to 0.125 inch. As a result, it provides less tool interference, machines tight pockets and delivers high levels of productivity."
