Articulated Optics for CMMs

With the new IP 40 T Sensor, Werth Messtechnik GmbH provides flexible measurement with image processing on a rotating/tilting head. This feature is also available on large coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

The Werth IP 40 T Sensor is a compact sensor head with telecentric optics that provide measurement of regular geometric elements and scanning of contours. Using Changeout Kinematics (patent pending), the illumination ring can be exchanged for the tiny Werth Fiber Probe. "The patented Werth WFP Fiber Probe allows highly precise contact measurements of extremely small geometries with minimal contact force," said a company spokesperson. "The area of applications of CMMs is thus expanded considerably."
