Grinders and EDM Hole Poppers

New for 2025 and being unveiled for the first time at the Manufacturing Technology Series SOUTHEAST, Innova Machine Tool is introducing hole poppers and grinders into its lineup of precision machinery. EDM hole drilling machines, or hole poppers, are an integral part of the manufacturing processes typical of the aerospace, medical and tool making industries.

The Innova by Ocean River 3 and River 35 machines are designed and engineered for precision holemaking, featuring an electrode diameter of 0.008" (River 3)/0.0003" (River 35) - 0.118" and max. current of between 25 and 64 amps. Drilling parameters can be easily adjusted for a range of machining operations from the machine, or operators can utilize preset parameters for easy operation. The flexible control box design allows operators to intuitively and conveniently utilize all functions of the hole popper while increasing drilling stability in high speeds.

"Grinding solutions have been high in demand in industries requiring fine surface finishes and incredibly tight tolerances, but manufacturers also want a machine tool with a long life to justify their investment," said a company spokesperson. "Innova surface and cylindrical grinders give just that. The hand scraped double and single V bases and guideways are Turcite coated for smooth movement while also ensuring high accuracy performance and longer machine life."

Both grinder bases from Innova have a tempered base with stress relief treatment to provide rigidity for grinding an array of material. Prolonged machine life and enhanced positioning accuracy is also due to the automatic lubrication system for all guideways and ballscrews.

Cylindrical grinding capacities range from a max. diameter of 7" to 9" with fixed or swiveling angle wheel heads for optimum surface finishes. Innova's column or saddle type surface grinders allow for a maximum grinding length between 23.6" and 59" with a max. grinding width of 11.8" to 23.6".

Innova Machine Tool's booth 1719 will feature additional precision manufacturing equipment and automation solutions, including a compact 5-axis machine from WSI, collaborative robots from Hanwha Robotics, machine accessories and more.
