Next-Generation Instrument in Portable Alloy Testing

Koslow Scientific Company has introduced its most advanced instrument to date, the Alloy Ranger TE-4000, engineered for quality control and metal verification in today's most demanding manufacturing environments.

The Alloy Ranger allows quality control engineers, stainless steel fabricators, field technicians and more to reliably identify and sort alloys. The system uses a thermoelectric measurement method based on the Seebeck Effect to provide numeric and color-coded alloy sorting in seconds using a one-handed heated probe operation.

Features include:

  • Operates without X-ray, isotopes or regulatory training-no radiation safety officer needed.
  • Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries provide up to seven hours of cordless operation.
  • No specialized training required-suited for fast sorting on-site or in the lab.
  • Sort up to five alloys by color at a glance.
  • Nondestructive alloy testing based on thermoelectric principles (Seebeck Effect)-no sparks, abrasions or sample loss.
  • Save up to 240 readings and export via USB to Excel for documentation or sharing.
  • Supplied with a calibration coupon (C-276) and certificate for compliance and quality assurance.
  • Ships with a protective hard case, interchangeable heated tips, USB cable, brush and power adapters.
  • Two-second measurements with no consumables-a smart alternative to costly analyzers.

Applications across industries:

  • Positive material identification (PMI)
  • Incoming and outgoing material inspection
  • Scrap reclamation
  • Weld and weld rod verification
  • Alloy mix-up prevention
  • Coating and plating detection.

The TE-4000 conforms to ASTM and includes traceable factory calibration.
