Educational Robotic Arc Welding

KUKA Robotics offers the Edu_ArcWelding cell, a mobile, all-in-one educational robotic cell that allows for fast, accurate robotic welding programming, operation, and small part manufacturing.

The KUKA Edu_ArcWelding cell adapts easily into schools, universities, and company learning centers. The cell's cart is equipped with a fume extractor and KUKA's KR AGILUS-2 6-axis compact robot with the new KR C5-2 Micro controller and KUKA SmartPAD teach pendant. It is paired with a Lincoln Electric R450 Power Wave welding power supply that works on either 240V or 480V and a Lincoln Electric MAGNUM Robotic Torch. The cart can also run without the welder on 120V for general training. An included 12-module digital training course and project-based lesson books further streamline the learning process.

"Manufacturers continue to face workforce staffing pressure as experienced operators retire against a short supply of skilled workers," said a company spokesperson. "The KUKA Edu_ArcWelding mobile training cart gives employers an avenue to provide on-the-job training that keeps workers up-to-date with current practices and equipment. It also allows students to train on state-of-the-art equipment they will see in the field."
