Smart Training Solutions Framework and Technology for Employers

NIMS has launched the Smart Training Solutions (STS) platform. The STS platform is both a training framework and technology for building dynamically updated training materials and proactively executing training within the natural flow of work.

With STS, users can build a digital twin of their workflow to synchronize training with production. Once completed, training content can be dynamically updated to keep up with the pace of change.

Once the workflow digital twin is in place, STS can proactively detect opportunities for training and evaluation within the natural flow of work and identify who needs to be trained or evaluated.

"Many organizations invest in Learning Management Systems (LMS) to improve workplace performance but still experience huge gaps in desired job performance. The STS framework and technology complements your LMS by empowering you to train and evaluate where it matters most-on the floor, in your natural workflow, and with minimum impact on production."

The STS technology is a SaaS software with six modules:

• Role Builder-Builds and manages a repository of duty-based standards that are the building blocks for training and evaluation.
• PM Developer-This module is for developing Performance Measures, training and evaluation assessments used to determine if an individual or team can perform their job roles during the natural flow of work.
• Training Developer-This module is for developing training materials to assist trainers with consistently transferring knowledge to others on the job.
• Tracker-This module tracks training activities. It is used to ensure everyone receives and adequate amount of training.
• Data Collector-This module is for collecting performance data outside the training process. Data collected outside the training process is suited for measuring true performance of trainees, trainers, and the organization.
• OJT Detector-This module can integrate with current planning and execution systems to detect training and evaluation opportunities during the natural flow of work.
