meviy Expands CNC Milling Capabilities with New Material Options

meviy, the on-demand custom parts manufacturing service developed by MISUMI Group, Inc., has announced the addition of five new materials for CNC milling, expanding its capabilities and giving engineers and designers even more flexibility in material selection. The new lineup includes 1045 carbon steel and four new copper and brass materials, each chosen for their exceptional performance characteristics, machinability, and application versatility.

"With this expansion, meviy continues its commitment to simplifying the manufacturing process," said a company spokesperson. "The platform now makes it even easier for customers to find the most suitable material for their designs without the hassle of sourcing alternatives. By offering a wider range of materials and surface treatments, meviy enables engineers to meet their custom part needs more efficiently and precisely than ever before."

The new materials support a wide range of engineering applications, from electrical and thermal components to precision mechanical structures and plumbing systems.

The addition of copper and brass materials is particularly beneficial for manufacturers in the electrical, semiconductor, and EV industries, where high conductivity, precision, and reliability are essential.

Newly added materials:

  • 1045 carbon steel: A widely used steel for mechanical structures, it offers high strength and durability for parts such as pulleys, gears, brackets, and frames. Wear resistance and hardness can be improved through heat treatment or quenching. As it is prone to rust, anti-rust treatments such as black oxide are often recommended. Now available for automatic quote.
  • Copper C1020 (oxygen-free): A highly pure copper (99.96%+) with exceptional electrical and thermal conductivity, it is suited for electrodes, heat sinks, and cryogenic applications. It resists hydrogen brittleness, allowing use in hydrogen environments. Common applications include electrical connectors, bus bars, semiconductor components, and EV charging infrastructure. Available for manual quote; automatic quote coming soon.
  • Copper C1100 (tough pitch): A 99.9% pure copper known for excellent conductivity and cost efficiency. Commonly used for electrodes and heat sinks in hydrogen-free environments. Frequently selected for electrical and semiconductor parts that require excellent conductivity at a more economical cost point. Available for manual quote; automatic quote coming soon.
  • Brass C2801P: A copper-zinc alloy offering high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Its golden appearance and durability make it a popular choice for manifolds and plumbing components. This alloy is also used in precision fittings and connectors for electrical, semiconductor, and EV cooling systems. Available for manual quote; automatic quote coming soon.
  • Brass C3604-LCd: A free-cutting brass containing a small amount of lead, optimized for machinability and chip control, ideal for precision machined parts, manifolds, and fittings requiring strength and corrosion resistance. Its ease of machining makes it suitable for detailed components in EV assemblies, electrical terminals, and semiconductor tooling. Available for manual quote; automatic quote coming soon.

The addition of these five materials allows meviy customers to meet more of their custom part needs within a single platform, reducing design limitations and streamlining the material selection process.
